This week, during my internship at Panther Graphics, I got to shadow the sign printing department. It was really cool to see how these large-scale signs were printed. Panther just got in a brand new machine for this job, replacing the prior older model. It’s called a “Linear Fluid Color Printer.”

This printer is different than others. The ink is actually cured by LED lights within seconds, resulting in vivid, sharp colors. The printing head goes back and forth over each area 3 times to ensure an even layer of ink. While I was shadowing, I got to see the production for a local political campaign. Political signs are one of the main uses for this machine because of its large size.

This piece was done using this same printer. This one is really cool because you can see just how vivid these colors are!
