As a physical format fanatic, there are so many of my favorite albums that are not available on cassette tape- one of my favorite formats. It’s so fun to be able to hold your favorite albums in your own hands. Recently, I got into PSD mockups, especially for cassette tapes that I wish actually existed. Today, I made this mockup for “What Now” by Sylan Esso. One of my all time favorite bands. It really helps to have the vinyl format when creating a cassette mockup. For example, on this record the band used all handwritten fonts for the lyrics and track listing. I was able to scan this with my phone before brining it into Photoshop to select the type using the magic wand tool. I wanted fonts and colors to be identical to the vinyl format in order for it to feel real. I plan on continuing to do this with many more albums, even creating my own album concept fro scratch!
