This week, I had the opportunity to sit down with a small business owner to discuss the challenges of owning and operating your own business. I chose one of my favorite shops in Sioux Falls, Total Drag Records.

Total Drag is an independently owned and operated concert venue and record shop owned by husband and wife, Dan and Liz. They opened up their shop in 2014 to allow Sioux Falls to have its very own music scene. The shop serves as a venue for local and independent artists to perform, while also supplying hundreds of records and tapes to shop for. Over the years, I have seen the growth in interest for vinyl records, which has been great to see. For many years now, I have chosen to only buy from Total Drag. I feel good knowing my money is going to support a local business that I love.

I learned a lot about business from this interview, and I hope to be able to talk to even more business owners in the future.
